OFFICE WORK
Archivist - Maintain all newspaper clippings and photos. Approximately 4 hours per month - requires a commitment to perform
this work on a long-term basis, on a schedule of your choice.
Office Help - Provide office support by answering phones, filing and general projects. Seeking individuals that can offer
3 - 4 hours per week on a regular schedule of your choice.
Database - Help update database, research new names, correct addresses and update other biographical information. Assistance
can be manual or computerized. Computer help will require a long-term commitment and software experience or training provided by
SMF. Maintaining confidentiality of all information is also required.
Special Events - Help perform a variety of duties for various fundraising and educational events. Assistance is needed in
promotion, setup, hostess duties, and clean up. Typically SMF has an annual lecture series, summer fundraising party, HBH Society
party and a few other minor events throughout the year. Volunteers are welcome for all or individual events.
Mailings - Help with four to six mailings per year, work with a group to fold, insert, label, stuff and seal newsletters and
appeals. You will be contacted 2 - 4 weeks before mailing.
FIELD WORK
Shorebird Program
Help monitor nesting Piping Plovers and Least Terns and educate the public at a beach near you. Requires miles of walking, physical
work, training, and a regular commitment of 4 or more hours per week from May through July.
Property Management
Trailwork - Help our Property Manager maintain walking trails. Seeking one or two individuals who can help with mowing,
trimming trails and other routine maintenance one-day per week on a regular basis.
Work Days - Volunteers wanted to help with cleanups, control of invasive species, etc. for 3 - 4 hours at a time on an
irregular basis. Work is hot, dirty and tiring, but ultimately rewarding.

information and to arrange an orientation and schedule.
